Post-Doc, History
About
I am a historian with interdisciplinary leanings studying Canadian and American environmental and transnational history.I completed my PhD in 2010 at the University of Ottawa, am currently a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at Carleton University, and in the 2012-13 academic year I’ll be a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Canadian Studies at St. Lawrence University (fall semester) in upstate New York and Michigan State University (winter semester).
My current book project looks at the joint Canadian-American construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project between 1954-59. It is a study in environmental diplomacy and combines environmental, diplomatic, political, technological, and transborder history. It will hopefully be published in late 2012 or early 2012. I am also looking at the transnational alternation and engineering of Niagara Falls in the mid-20th century, and co-editing a book on the history of Canadian-American water relations.
