About
I am a Registered Professional Archaeologist in North America, and I was a Member of the Institute for Archaeologists (formerly, Institute of Field Archaeologists) in the UK from 2004-2009. I am now Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities in the Department of History at Carleton University. I’m on twitter as @electricarchaeo
My archaeological work is with the British School at Rome and other collaborators in the UK (I am, amongst other things, a specialist in Roman stamped brick), and the National Capital Commission in Ottawa. I was the first Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Roman Archaeology at the University of Manitoba. I earned my PhD from the University of Reading in 2002 (in 2003/4 I played in the Men’s South of England Lacrosse League for the Reading Wildcats. Go Wildcats go!)
My PhD work was at the University of Reading, and the British School at Rome, as part of the BSR's Tiber Valley Project. I was a research assistant at the BSR in the late 1990s.
